Acclaimed jazz vocalist Jane Monheit will be appearing in a Special Engagement at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) Tuesday through Saturday, January 12th through 16th, with sets at 8:30 & 11:00 pm.
In eight short years, Jane Monheit has managed to establish herself as one of her generations most beloved and accomplished jazz vocalists. On her new album (and sophomore release on Concord Records), Jane masters familiar classics and extends beyond the American Songbook realm, also exploring contemporary pop and jazz from songwriters such as Corrine Bailey Rae and Fiona Apple. Monheit's honey-smooth vocals, silky phrasing and natural knack for storytelling have earned her chart-topping success, two Grammy nominations, and a prominent career that shows no sign of slowing. There is a $30 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
