"A Most Unusual Day" is one man's tale of chance encounters and accidental survival! A story of how unintended (and often VERY unexpected) twists make their way into the ordinary events of life, and manage to lead you in a not-so-ordinary way to where and who you are. Singing the songs of Cole Porter, Willy Nelson, Randy Newman and others, actor Doug Sheppard makes his solo cabaret debut in a musical look at life's fits of fancy, fantasy, and much dreaming done wide-awake.

From Hollywood to Haymarket celebrates the music of three
composers who had long and prolific careers, yet, strangely enough, did not
receive any major retrospectives in the New York area.
The most well known is Ray Evans, who collaborated with Jay Livingston to pen
hit after hit in Hollywood’s golden era (MonaLisa; Que Sera,
Sera; Buttons and Bows; Silver Bells) earning them three
Academy Awards. Lew Spence, who died just last year, was less well known, yet
contributed some wonderful American Song Book classics such as Nice and Easy
and That Face. Then there’s the David Heneker who was the first Brit to
have two major Broadway shows running at once: Half a Sixpence and Irma
la Douce.
This lively show will offer some insight into the lives of these
composers/lyricists while presenting some of their best-loved numbers along
with those “unsung gems” from the files of Paul Chamlin, which have become a
staple at Paul and Rochelle’s shows.
This is the third collaboration for Paul and Rochelle, who met almost 4 years
ago in the Catskill Mountains while singing a professional choral gig at
Kutscher’s Country Club (you can’t make this stuff up) and went on to chronicle
their courtship and marriage in Mutual Admiration Society and The
Honeymoon is Over.
Jan Wallman of Cabaret Scenes called Mutual Admiration Society
“Last season’s most adorable show” and Roy Sanders (formerly of Backstage
and Citysearch) said of The Honeymoon is Over, "Tuneful,
witty, charming, and very entertaining—with a delightful dose of rarely
performed material."
