It's All in the Arrangement!
What happens when you take some great Motown hits, give them a new point of
view and a fresh arrangement? That’s what you will be exploring with
Multi-Award-winning director and musical director, Lennie Watts and Steven Ray
Watkins. Each participant will be assigned two Motown songs to learn as
written. Then the fun begins! Over the eight-week session, we will collaborate on personalized treatments of these
great songs. We will explore the lyrics, and the style of the song, and create
a one of a kind arrangement just for you! At the end of this session, your eyes
will be opened to a whole new way to look at music!
Enrollment limited and by audition only. Course includes a performance on the
evening of 3/14. Each participant will also receive a chart for their
arrangement of one of their two pieces.

Audition requirements: Call for an appointment by 6:00 pm, Saturday, December
20*. Prepare one song that you feel shows you at your best, but bring alternate
material and be ready to sing another song, if asked. Please bring appropriate
sheet music.

*Singers Forum will be closed from 12/21 through 1/4 (with the exception of the
