                                                                                                                            My Own Space is an unforgettable journey through childhood experienced through movies. An only child, born of a loving and indulgent mother, is allowed to reject the oppressive forces surrounding him by creating a world peopled by the luminous stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Lugosi, Swanson, Dietrich, Karloff, Russell and Garland guide him through life, culminating in the creation of a world that he can now share with others: A world known as My Own Space.

Weaving classic songs from the great American songbook, Michael McQuary takes the audience into the glamorous world of Old Hollywood through a child’s eyes. My Own Space, written and directed by Mr. McQuary, is an intimate examination of the impact of these movies on our lives, and how they can inspire the dreamer in everyone.

My Own Space will debut at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street, New York, NY on Thursday, February 2, 2012 and Thursday, February 9, 2012.
