A Heart that Beats for the Style and Elegance of the Past.
thumb_gregory-moore-orchestraOne of NYC's newest "trad jazz" orchestras, Gregory Moore and his Cosmopolitan Orchestra debuted last year, when they opened the 2008 Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center's Rose Hall, and received The Dorothy Loudon Foundation Award.

They soon became a popular favorite at the Iridium Jazz Club, leading to the taping of their May performance by DFDTV.com, which will be presented on the web network’s live entertainment channel DigitalRicks.com.  In recognition of the Mabel Mercer Foundation and its Director Donald Smith’s upcoming Cabaret Convention, the debut airing of Moore's show will be this Sunday, Oct.  at 8pm. Owing to rather extraordinary circumstances, the band is on "hiatus" at the moment.  Shortly after the taping, Mr. Moore was diagnosed with a severely damaged aortal valve, necessitating a heart transplant, and he is currently on the donor waitlist at Westchester County Medical Center. Mr. Moore recently hit the boards again, joining Steve Ross as a guest at a recent show held at the Bruno Walter Auditorium. He wore a very stylish trademark outfit, which amply covered all the extra medical contraptions he is now required to also don. According to his surgeons, his prognosis is good, with a speedy and full recovery and an official return to the bandstand, imminent.  Until that next gig, you can thumb_dfdtv_logo_url_slogan_blkstill get your fix of elegance and style from seeing this 1930’s styled Orchestra this Sunday, Oct. 4th at 8pm and then streamed on demand at www.digitalricks.com . Mr Moore, as always with style, wit and humor reports he will not be performing either, "My Heart Stood Still" or "Pop Goes Your Heart."
