Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, Ragtime weaves together three distinctly American tales -- that of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician -- united by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future. Their compelling stories are set to a glorious, Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens. Based on the classic E.L. Doctorow novel, Ragtime also features an extraordinary, Tony Award-winning book by Terrence McNally, direction and choreography by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, a majestic 28-piece orchestra and a vibrant cast of 40.
