CD Review: John Fedchock/NY Sextet/Live At Red Sea Jazz

What a fine breath of fresh jazz air from six highly talented jazzers. John Fedchock has combined both artistic prowess and imaginative musical ideas in his choice of the players he's chosen for his new CD project to deliver his original palate of newly penned music. John's model for a freely developed & imaginative sojourn of new material is manifest in his finely honed spate of contemporary musical orig's. He expands his musical ideas in all aspects of his musical model including interesting textural

elements to both harmony and melody. The result is a striking and dramatic statement of art that we must reckon with. On a personal scale, I must pay kudos to Fedchock's ardent zeal in his music. It contains artistic weight and a certain majesty which makes anyone entertained.' Therefore, we are driven, (as his listeners) to the conclusion that John is a dominating force in jazz, who intuitively offers his music to us in a similar way as would a sculptor...With form, logic, drama, and architecture.
