CD Review: Dave Glasser/Revolution

''I Have Come To Play!! I have come to instruct you in the art of the horn line and the wondrous vagaries of mainstream jazz. '' And so, Dave Glasser with his superb group & alto sax talent(s) literally baptize us in the waters of spirited, albeit intellectual jazz. His take on the jazz classic ''It Could Happen To You''... you gotta' hear... with its anticipations and deceptive cadences. This guy's a revolution in itself!! Dave delivers his music with an admirable continuity of melody and jazz harmony along with a certain spontaneous 'ease of delivery.'

I must bring attention to my readers to the many delightful and beautifully contrived jazz passages in Dave's wonderfully developed and imaginative horn line improvisations. His sidemen create an ethereal yet cogent platform for Dave to explore the mysteries of our beloved jazz idiom. There is nothing inferior, pedestrian, or commonplace in any of the music contained therein. On the contrary, this is music that is luxuriantly chromatic and sensitive & delicate... certainly worthy of the subtle character in which Dave is wont to present.
