Rich harmonies, stealthy melodies, great ideas, etc etc. Hell, Lou Volpe definitely qualifies as your basic journeyman jazz guitarist!! I want to join the ranks of, (I hope) the many readers who will be edified by his take on the wonderful jazz classic ""Softly As In a Morning Sunrise.'' Lou didn't leave anything out in his delivery as it were. This is a jazzer that has the audacity to explore jazz in its utmost musical mystique. He can be delicate and subtle and yet deliver his music to us with imaginative understatement as well as great artistic energy and controlled aggression. In short, Lou Volpe is prominent in vigorous contrapuntal passages, broad emphatic cadence, and if you listen intently to his talent, you will be rewarded with a punctuated yet relaxed lyrical harmonic-melodic interlude
